Greetings from the end of the kingdom 2026

Blog Two

28/07/2026

We have returned ftom Cornwall now so I am writing this in retrospect.
We turned dup to the campsite car park and performed the awkward phone call saying this is 'Hi Mark, this is Mark we have a booking' We were told to drive straight to pod one called 'Newlyn' after the village. The very first pod built and we have been coming here long enough to remember seeing the foundations being laid. The only downside was the close proximity to the women's showers. This made some awkward stares from them as I sat on the roof drinking my coffee of a morning and plus the noise of the bad dryer, which didn't end up being that bad to be fair. We had bought the ingredients for tacos for our supper, once we had unloaded the car and it didn't take that long. I wrote the first blog and then started cooking. The kitchenette is small, great size for me and well equipped. We sat and ate our dinner on the patio. When we had finished and washed up, we head down to Land's end, excited to see the drone show and fire works.

Without realising we were still in the Cornish school term and no one had broken up yet, we discovered magic in the skies wasn't on. The first show was on the coming Thursday, luckily for us. I was worried that Lucas braking up early from school meant we had come down a week too soon and nothing was open. We milled around a muted and quiet Land's end before heading back to the pod to pick up the car and drive top Penzance and muck about in the arcade. And spend loads of money. Then in true Riley adventure form, we arrived back at the pod and drank hot chocolate on the roof.
